What Printing Actually Costs in Dubai, and What Moves the Price
A plain guide to print pricing in Dubai: what drives the cost of business cards, banners, packaging and signage, and how to brief a job so the quote comes back low.

Print is quoted rather than listed because five jobs with the same name can differ tenfold in cost. A thousand business cards on standard card and a thousand on soft-touch stock with spot UV are the same line item and not the same job.
Here is what actually moves a print quote in Dubai, so you can brief one properly and compare two quotes fairly.
Quantity moves the unit price more than anything else
Most of the cost of a short run is set-up: artwork checks, plates or machine set-up, and cutting. Doubling the quantity rarely doubles the price, which is why 500 cards often costs only a little more than 250.
If you know you will reprint in three months, price both quantities at the same time and decide with the numbers in front of you.
Material and finish are the second lever
Stock weight, lamination, spot UV, foiling, embossing and edge painting each add a pass and a cost. They are worth it on the pieces a client holds — cards, folders, packaging — and rarely worth it on internal forms.
- Business cards: stock weight, then lamination, then any special finish.
- Brochures: page count, folding and binding, then paper.
- Banners and signage: material, frame or stand, and whether it is indoor or UV-stable for outdoors.
- Packaging: box construction, print on the inside face, and whether it is die-cut to a custom shape.
- Vehicle graphics: coverage area, laminate grade and the complexity of the vehicle's curves.
Artwork readiness quietly decides your deadline
A print-ready file has bleed, safe margins, outlined fonts and images at a workable resolution. Files that arrive as a screenshot or a slide need rebuilding, which is time, and time is the part of a rush job you cannot buy back.
Send the source file where you can. If you only have a logo on a white background, say so in the brief and ask for it to be cleaned up as part of the quote.
How to brief a job so the quote comes back fast
Four lines are usually enough:
- What it is and how many — "500 business cards, double sided".
- Size and material, if it matters to you — otherwise ask for a recommendation.
- When you need it in your hands, not when you would like it.
- Where it is going: one address, several branches, or an event stand.

- It depends on stock and finish more than on quantity. Ask for the same design quoted at two quantities and two finishes; the difference is usually clearer than any price list.
- How fast can printing be done in Dubai?
- Simple stocked items can run in one to two working days once artwork is approved. Finished work such as laminated packaging, signage or vehicle wraps needs longer, and outdoor installation depends on site access.
- Why do print companies quote instead of listing prices?
- Because quantity, material, finish, artwork state and delivery all change the cost. A listed price would be either far too high for most jobs or wrong for the rest.
